If you’d have told me four years ago I would contend with a global pandemic, Brexit, war in Ukraine and hosting Ukrainians, home schooling, going into business with my husband and still be standing with a growing business, I don’t think I would have believed you. It’s been an adventure for sure with an incredible amount of learning and people to be grateful for!
My top 10 learnings as a Self Leader, equipping as many people as our growing Courageous team can to outperform, are:

πŸ’‘ Low EGO + high EQ = a powerful combination.
πŸ’‘ It’s all a tough mudder course but slow and steady wins the race, with learning opportunities at every obstacle.
πŸ’‘ You need to be braver than average and enjoy it. Your mindset is your superpower and you need to tell yourself “I am. I can. I will. I do.” every day.
πŸ’‘ Stay focused on what is in your control and breathe when you have forgotten what that might be.
πŸ’‘ Have the rituals in place to bring your own energy when it matters – you all know that music + movement is my magic cocktail πŸ˜‰
πŸ’‘ Asking for what you want isn’t aggressive, it’s just a form of confident relationship building.
πŸ’‘ Don’t be apologetic for your technical mastery, just help people see how it can help them.
πŸ’‘ Invest in your network and help them to be successful and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it too.
πŸ’‘ Chill out mentally and physically when required so you can sprint when required.
πŸ’‘ “Be a goldfish” when you need to be and if you’re not sure what I mean, you have to watch Ted Lasso!

I learn the most by listening to the people who trust us to advise, consult and coach them and their teams because they experience the world differently to me. And, just because I have learned all the above, does not mean I have mastered it all…yet!

There’s so much more to be done and I’ll do my best to hold myself and our growing team accountable to bring the #courage others need. Thank you to our clients around the world who have chosen to work with us and to the unique Steve Elstein and our wonderful Courageous Co. team.
