My biggest reflection as I reach my 50th birthday: life is for living!!
I would never have imagined that I’d be running a consultancy with my wife Michelle Elstein helping lots of people all over the world achieve their goals, having fun and building our own #Courageous team.
My top 5 thoughts at this milestone:
– Find smart people to work with that share your values and encourage each other to go out of your comfort zones and learn constantly.
– Work in areas that you are passionate about AND competent at… success will find you.
– Be willing to experiment and iterate in order to learn and keep your brain building new connections. Who knew agility ladders could work as time machines!?
– Enjoy the adventure and accept it won’t always go the way you expect; there can be many ways to reach the destination.
– Say thank you, often. Thank you to all the people in my professional and personal life who have challenged me and cheered me on!
Most of all, smile, look for the best in others, ditch any ego, love those closest to you and appreciate each day. I’m excited to see what the next decade brings… when I get back from the surprise trip my Courageous Co-founder has planned 😉
