Spot the difference?! Twenty years as partners in life and three years as partners in business!
People ask us all the time about how we make it work as the Courageous Elsteins. We just disconnected from the world to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and the time away offered plenty of time to reflect on what keeps us going as a strong united team.

In the spirit of sharing ideas for Leaders and Self Leaders, here are a few nuggets that come to mind for performing at your best in your organisation:

** Come with unconditional respect. Never stop being interested in what the other person thinks and why they see things the way they do. It gets to you the best ideas and outcomes.

** Go out of your comfort zones together. Choose to experience new things that scare you or excite you and learn from them.

** Hold tight in the challenging moments and scream with glee in the joyful moments. Laugh with each other and at each other, being silly as often as possible and serious when you have to.

** Know your role. We can be cheerleaders, mentors, coaches, challengers, friends and partners on any given day depending on what we need from each other.

** Say thank you and show kindness. Small things everyday are more important than the big gestures. Recognition and appreciation go a long way.

** Play to your strengths. This applies to the strategic business planning, day to day running of the business, building client relationships and let’s face it, the reality of who should cook dinner or break up a teenage argument!

** Do your best to be role models to others. We will only know in time if this has worked…

Thank you to all our friends, colleagues and clients over the years who have supported and encouraged us individually and as the Courageous Elsteins. There’s so much more to come so share your nuggets too!!
